We all know that photography and videography are not cheap hobbies/professions. Camera gear and the plethora of accessories needed to optimize your workflow can cost an arm, leg or kidney. However, there are also a lot of fantastic little accessories that can help you achieve great results without the hefty pricetag.
DSLR Video Shooter brings us this awesome list of 10 items, each costing around $50. Caleb Pike does a great job identifying some very unique items I have not seen very frequently and, of course, his production quality is as epic as always. My personal favorites are the VJIM VL 120 RGB Video Light and the Deity D4 Mini Mic. While the video is primarily intended for filmmakers, having a portable RGB light can be quite a handy tool for photographers as well. There are a lot of cool light painting effects you can achieve with such a light whether you are shooting street or even landscapes. The mic is also quite awesome. It looks very much like the Rode VideoMicro. However, it has one added benefit. You are able to plug another mic into it and it functions as a mixer splitting your audio into two channels.
The runner up on this list would have to be the camera battery charging case. Not only does it charge your camera batteries (multiple makes available for all camera brands) but, it has a reverse charge feature as well. If you have a bunch of batteries lying around in your bag and your phone is the one dying instead, problem solved.
Check out the video, there are a lot of other really cool gadgets on the list. I believe I will definitely be picking up that RGB light for myself.
