I have always been fascinated by drones. I feel their immediate rise in the photography and videography industry is well merited. By essentially having a lens in the sky, it has truly opened up a world of possibilities for many creatives.

Personally, I do not currently own a drone because flying one in Canada is a nightmare. The strict regulations make it virtually illegal to fly anywhere you’d want to (e.g. Rocky Mountains). It may be more worthwhile to get a proper pilots license if that sheds any light on the Canadian process as a whole. That being said, I am very much interested in purchasing a drone.

Once Covid-19 is done ruining our collective lives, I do plan on embarking on some international adventures. Adventures in paces where drones are not regulated nearly as much as in Canada. As a result, I always make sure to do my research in how to get the most out of my equipment. In this video by Mark McGee, we learn some of the fundamental tips in maximizing our results with drones.

Mark does a fantastic job in covering all the basics like your settings, composition and lighting. You know, the things that you would ideally learn about while also using your regular camera. Make sure to check out the video for the complete guide. Mark did an incredible job and his production value is top notch as always!
