Payto Lake in Banff National Park is world renowned for its beauty. I have been meaning to get to this location for quite some time and it did not help that a combination of Covid and a facility restoration project had the location locked down for a couple of years.
On October 9, 2021 the viewing area had finally reopened and I was able to get the shot I have been wanting for all this time. It was also especially satisfying since it marked the beginning of my journey up the Icefields Parkway (Highway 93) to my late fall Jasper vacation.
I hope in the future I can have the pleasure to return to this location with the northern lights lighting up the lake at night for a truly glorious once in a lifetime image.
