Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan.
Sensoji Temple is a must see locations on any Tokyo itinerary. Besides the history and feudal architecture, Asakusa itself is an amazing part of Tokyo. I personally find this area to be rich in culture and has a distinct feel compared to the rest of Tokyo. I suppose the best way to describe it would be “organic”.
Nakamise street is also immediately in front of Sensoji Temple. It is a 200 meter stretch of stalls with wares ranging from gifts and snacks to Japanese cutlery and more. You can take a boat ride on the canals or get chauffeured around in a rickshaw, the options are endless.
I come to this temple every time I am in Tokyo. It is also particularly convenient since often times I perfect finding my accommodations close to this location as I use Tokyo JR Station as my main launching point to the rest of the country.
